HELP INSTALLING YOUR MACROMEDIA FLASH PLUG-IN The reason you have reached this page is because you are having problems loading the Macromedia Flash Plug-In. This important plug-in is now required to view many Web sites. If you cannot view Web sites which contain "Macromedia Flash", then you are missing out on a great part of the Internet experience which includes active content. Flash plug-in If you do not have Macromedia Flash installed on your system
yet you can quickly download Macromedia Flash here at the Adobe Web site: Once you have clicked on "Download Now" Internet Explorer should automatically download the Macromedia Flash Plug-in onto your computer. Once you have received the plug-in your browser will ask you if you would like to install it. Be sure to click "OK" or "Yes". In an attempt to protect your computer from harmful scripts, and as a security precaution, Internet Explorer will give you a message which reads something like this: "the object you are about to install may be harmful to your system". This is NOT true for Macromedia Flash. In actual fact, Macromedia Flash will only enhance your internet viewing and now even comes bundled with Windows 98 software and newer software versions. You only need to install the flash plug-in once (and once only) so when you come across another site using Flash animations you won't need to install the plug-in ever again. Your Internet Explorer browser may be old and will need to be upgraded. Enable your Java Settings! Java is also a very important part of the Internet experience and to view Java content, you must have Java enabled within your browser. To check and see if Java is enabled on your computer, just go to 'Internet Options' under 'View' on the to toolbar and then to 'Advanced'. Under the heading Java VM you will find the follow selections, Java Console Enabled, Java JIT Compiler Enabled and Java Logging Enabled. To be able to view Web sites that have Java content, make sure that all three of these options are selected or checked. You will then be able to enjoy Java content on Web sites. Finally, you may just have an old browser that doesn't support Java. If that is the case then you really should take a minute or two to upgrade your brower. NETSCAPE COMMUNICATOR USERS You will be presented with a number of screens asking for permission to install the Macromedia Flash Plug-in. At this stage you can either accept the plug-in or tell the script not to install it.
